Blu-Ray & DVDs - Goodies and Extras

Hey fellow birds and Rio fans~!

As you know, the Blu-Ray and DVDs are already out (in selected countries). Here in Austria, we get them on August 1st, which is tomorrow. However, as I was out running errands, they were alrea

dy out (not surprised as they never stick to release dates). But I didn't buy them.

Why you ask? Because they give out a goodie when you buy a Rio 2 product. A Blu keychain to be exact! And I want it so I'll go out for a hunt tomorrow. I already went in two stores but they either didn't know about the keychain at all or they are not giving them out until August 14th!

I also saw a DVD with a glue stick from UHU with Rio pictures. The DVD also has an alternate cardboard cover (with the regular one inside).

I'm curious if you guys have similar goodies to get~ =)

There is also something interesting: Buying the DVD bundle with both movies gives you an extra disc with 1 hour of bonus content. I compared the bonus disc with the regular versions and it seems it's just the Blu-Ray features (since DVD versions tend to have only a portion of what the Blu-Ray has). But 1 hour? Either there is more content than shown on the back of the cover, or they combined Rio 1's and Rio 2's bonus content.

Another thing I noticed: The DVD version says "97 minutes" of playtime while the Blu-Ray version has "101 minutes" of playtime. I can't say if they added the deleted scene with Nigel because it is part of the bonus content and is only about 30 seconds long.

Alright, so I went into a total of 15 stores (yes, I am that determined) and 11 of those confirmed that the keychain is indeed coming on August 14th. What in the actual F!? They are advertising something for August 1st but sell them two weeks later? I friggin can't believe it...

Whether it'll be sold seperately at the cash desk or bundled with a DVD/Blu-Ray, that I don't know. If it does come bundled, I'll go buy the DVD with the bonus disc instead so I don't have two Blu-Rays in the end, getting that keychain. I'll report later with more info of the bonus disc and pictures. =)

I hadn't had the time to take some pictures, but I have some info regarding the bonus disc. The disc is just an add-on for the DVDs after all. They addded all the bonus content from the Blu-Ray version that are not present in the DVD version. But they included a "minigame" which is not present in the Blu-Ray version at all. In the minigame, you will be shown a few clips from different Blue Sky movies and you get multiple characters shown in which you have to choose the one who appeared in that clip.

I'll definitely be putting up some pictures tomorrow. The bonus disc looks actually quite nice. =)

Anyway, I got some pictures for ya:

I bought all these during the hunt for the keychain. Surprisingly, the cardboard case with the UHU is also the actual cover of the DVD. =)

The CD art for the bundled versions are the same as if you were buying the regular DVDs. Same goes with the Blu-Ray bundle. The bonus disc looks nice though. =)
