Hello everyone! This is my first post on Rio Wiki and I know many of this Wiki, really want to know Rio de Janeiro in particular that, I'm doing this post for all to know a little more about the " Marvelous City ".
To start, I have to say that I live in Rio de Janeiro and I am also in Rio. So it's almost obvious, I know quite my city. Starting to talk about it, the Rio de Janeiro is very beautiful but for having beautiful scenery and sights as Corcovado, the beaches like Ipanema and Copacabana, Quinta da Boa Vista (historical area of the city where in the nineteenth century was the site of the former Brazilian Empire), the Botanical Garden of Rio, Sugarloaf, etc.. In short, what most delights in Rio is the meeting of the vegetation to the sea.
Now, sorry for what I say, but the Carnival sights and natural landscapes hide for many, especially for foreigners, the real Rio de Janeiro ... To begin, for those who think the slums of Rio de Janeiro are friendly, they are wrong, violence is very large in various slums (not all), although some here in Rio have been pacified, there is still violence in them. Has many things besides violence, but will not cite for not getting a Bad Content...
Carnival is really celebrated here, full of music and samba, although some of the locals do not like the samba. It's kind of silly that I'm going to say, but we do not live in Rio only celebrating feasts and music, as a minority and think it is totally false. No need to talk much carnival as the film Rio itself has shown what it means to the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, although in the film show a little overly carnival in town, like that scene from the movie that shows a group of people leaving the street dancing.
The Rio de Janeiro is improving slowly but still with a lack of infrastructure such as line trains here in Rio is the company called SuperVia, and this line of trains has many problems, starting with the lack of organization that could invest in more trains and more carriages, which will bring super
crowded and uncomfortable trains. The use of old trains with over 60 years of use, is another problem caused by SuperVia instead of investing in more new trains and replace the old trains, they continue to use the old trains that do not have so much technology and ends up giving in problems as occurred last Wednesday here in Rio de Janeiro. Click here, that information will be directed about the problem occurred last quoted, and the site is in Portuguese.
The Rio de Janeiro is currently heavily trafficked, because of the works that promise to improve the city until the Olympic Games in 2016, as the construction of new subways, roads, recreational areas and tourism, even to a new electric tram that must circulate the areas of West and South Zone of Rio.
Other things have happened in Rio as the waves of protests that have taken place against the government of the city and state because of problems that has been affecting the entire site, as occurred in June 2013 when a large wave of protests of the people against increased passage of transport, lack of investment in education and health. Protest also took place with teachers in August of 2013 until October of that year because of the low salary of teachers, and this protest hindered many students.
Anyway, Rio as well as all other cities, has its pros and cons, but if one day, someone wants to know this city, I recommend you come to know, as they will thoroughly enjoy the sights, natural landscapes and even the events commemorated here in Rio, not to mention that the cariocas is a very hospitable people! I'm a big fan of the movie Rio and I will definitely see the movie Rio 2, I know that despite the problems mentioned and others not mentioned, the movie Rio was created to showcase the beautiful landscape of the city with a great and fun adventure directed not only to children but also for people of all ages. In conclusion, what is important is the content and story of the movie Rio and its sequel which debuts this year.
