The Marmosets are supporting antagonists in Rio. They are an army of thieving Common Marmosets led by Mauro. In Rio, they were ordered by Nigel to find the last two Spix's Macaws, Blu and Jewel, and capture them.
Biography[]
The marmosets are first seen stealing shiny objects from tourists, then they appear in the forest celebrating their new founds. Nigel then forces them to find Blu and Jewel and threatens them: if they fail to find the two blue macaws, they will all be forced to take "flying lessons" from him. They search for Blu and Jewel and find them at the birds' samba club, and have a fight there, birds vs. monkeys. They however lose the fight. Nigel finds them later and asks what happened. At the end of the film, Mauro takes a photo of Nigel that was plucked, only to embarrass him.
Appearance[]
Almost all of the marmosets are gray in color with white heads, except for Mauro, who is brown. They all have stripes on their tails and white ears.
Personality and Traits[]
The marmosets are crude, sneaky, sly, and mischievous little creatures who are attracted to shiny objects. They are also smart, knowing how to use phones and using jewelry for other uses. Nigel is the one who made them antagonists, so in reality, they were only forced to be enemies of Blu and Jewel.

Trivia[]
- Several of the marmosets do the three wise monkeys' poses, meaning "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil" after Nigel throws their boss up into the air and catches him to force them to help him.
