The Birdhouse is the home of Blu, Jewel, and their children, Tiago, Bia and Carla. The birdhouse is located in the Blu Bird Sanctuary, not far from Linda and Tulio's house.
It consists of one large room in the middle for Blu and Jewel, and three smaller rooms for the kids around it. The left room belongs to Carla, the upper room belongs to Tiago, and the right room belongs to Bia. Carla's room has its entrance closed by a no parking sign ("E" from "estacionar").
Role in Rio 2[]
In the beginning of Rio 2, Jewel found a Brazil Nut and got excited to show it to her children. But, when she arrived at the Bird House, there was not anyone there.
After a while, Jewel realizes that Blu, Carla, Bia and Tiago were in Linda and Tulio's House having breakfast. Then, she flies there.
Later, after the Spix's Macaw Family decided to travel to the Amazon, they prepare to go in front of the house. Blu picks up everything he needs and puts it in his fanny pack. Tiago shouts for joy. Bia reads about Amazon in her book. And Carla did not leave her room, even Jewel telling her to do so.
Rafael went to the Bird House to say that he was going on the trip, and after a while, Nico and Pedro appeared and said they would go to find good talents in the Amazon; it motivated Carla to go. Then, they all go on the trip.
Appearance[]
The Bird House is made of wood and metal, and has one large room for Blu and Jewel, and three smaller rooms, one for each child.
Blu and Jewel's room is made of wood, is in the center, is shaped like a parallelepiped, and has white walls and a red roof.
Carla's room is made of metal, is on the right of Blu and Jewel's room, has a "no parking" sign as a door, and is shaped like a parallelepiped.
Tiago's room is made of wood, is above Blu and Jewel's room, and has a shape similar to Carla's room.
Bia's room is made of metal, is on the left of Blu and Jewel's room, and is shaped like a cylinder.
Trivia[]
- The sign of a letter "E" with a line through it on the entrance to Carla's room means Proibido Estacionar, which translates to No Parking in Portuguese.
- This is perhaps a joke about Blu's domestic habits by Blue Sky, since there would be no way for a car to park on the Birdhouse. Or it could mean that Carla doesn't like having other people in her room.
- Jewel promised Blu that their family will spend summers in Rio de Janeiro. This heavily implies that they'll be using the Birdhouse as their summer home.
