Ssssalbatore is a giant Anaconda who appears in Rio: Snakes Alive!
Biography[]
Ssssalbatore was first mentioned by Luiz, who referred to him as a "guardian" of the hair-restoring potion used by a lost civilization.
When Blu and Jewel reach the Pedra de Gavea, they open a passage into the cavern where Ssssalbatore resides. The hungry Ssssalbatore attacks them and their chicks, following them out into the jungle. The Spix's Macaw Family tries to hide from him, but he finds them. Before he can eat them, he is attacked by a flock of bats. Blu joins in, covering Ssssalbatore's eyes with his wings. Blinded, the giant snake slithers down to Rio de Janeiro, causing havoc in the streets, with Blu coming along for the ride (Due to his talon being trapped in one of Ssssalbatore's scales). Jewel pulls Blu free, and Ssssalbatore ends up crashing through a fence and falling off a cliff into the ocean below, where he presumably drowns.
Trivia[]
- Ssssalbatore is clearly not an ordinary anaconda. Aside from his immense size, he was suggested to have been residing within the Pedra de Gavea for hundreds of years, which is a far longer lifespan than is average for his species.
