Rio 2 Sky Soccer is a game published in 2014 by Cupcake Digital Inc. based in the Pit of Doom scene of the movie Rio 2. It was developed under the partnership with 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios.

The application supports both Android and iOS devices and has the following modes:

  • Story — Shows a little of the story of Rio 2.
  • Star Soccer — There are 20 levels (plus one bonus level) in which the player has to score the goal.
  • Soccer Smash — The 1 vs. 1 mode. The player might choose between playing against another player or the computer.

Story[]

In the Story mode, the player sees the basic story of Rio 2, but with some differences. One of the differences is that it was not said that the winning tribe would get the whole Brazil Nut Grove. Another difference is that after Blu scored an own goal, he did not argue with Jewel. Instead, she and their children told Blu that he played well and that he will always be a hero for them. Jewel ended by telling Blu to, the next time he wants to bring her breakfast, opt for pancakes.

Star Soccer[]

In the Star Soccer mode, the player has to score the goal to pass the level. There are 20 common levels. After concluding the 20 levels with 3 stars in each, the player has one more level, in which he might get up to 20 stars.
To get the first star, the player has to score a goal. To get the second, the player has to catch the second star (which is somewhere through the level) with the ball. To get the third star, the player has to have scored the goal in a limited quantity of plays.

Soccer Smash[]

In the Soccer Smash mode, the player first has to choose between playing against another player (using split-screen on the cellphone) or the computer. Once selected, the players can choose whether they will play with Blu, Rafael, Pedro or Felipe.
Each player has his own side, and cannot cross to the other player's side. When the game starts, one of the players is drawn to start. When the player has the ball, he might click to kick weakly or drag to kick strongly. If the other player blocks the weakly kicked ball, he gets the ball and might kick. If the ball was strongly kicked, the other player cannot immediately get the ball; it first has to be blocked by the player or an object of the scenery to them lose the strong (which made the ball bounce), and one of the players gets the ball.
The game ends when one of the players scores four goals.
